Memorial for Ryan Lee Smith

Ryan was so full of passion and wide eyed with a sense for adventure. You could hear it in everything and every topic he talked about. Along with his passion for life, he was full of love. He had love for everyone he met, even if they had done him wrong. Ryan especially had an overflowing amount of love for his Mom, Melissa Smith. Ryan was only 27 years old and had just achieved one of his biggest goals - graduating Make School where he learned coding in San Francisco. On top of his goals, Ryan had already achieved great things. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as an Infantry Medic right out of high school for five years and was the first of five to graduate college. Upon graduating, he landed himself at IBM. Ryan aspired to do big things with a venture he was working on with his cousin to harness technology to provide housing to those who financially needed support. His passion for his fellow man was immense and often felt in the way he spoke about wanting the best for everyone.
Ryan had so much going for him and he had so much more life to live. You always knew when Ryan was home because he made it a point to hug everyone as soon as he walked in the door. He had the goofiest laugh and the biggest smile when he told you something new or interesting he recently learned or discovered. Ryan's journey was cut short but he would always want his loved ones to remember, family and friends, to go big, think critically, and be excited for life.
This Go Fund Me is meant to assist with the financial needs of bringing Ryan back home from California and for funeral/memorial costs, transportation, etc. The fund is being monitored by his siblings, Josh, Frankie, Karley and Amanda.
Ryan would want everyone to know that you were loved and cherished. Thank you again for the out flowing of love and support during this difficult time for our family.
