Memorial for Marilyn Doss
Donation protected
Pastor Steve Doss and Marilyn Doss have been serving the body of Christ as well as making countless sacrifices to feed and clothe those with the greatest need. The two of them purposed themselves to serve with what the Lord has given them generously and without reservation.
Even taking people into their home to get them off the streets and stabilized. Caring for the elderly and making those with no family a part of their family.
Steve and Marilyn touched so many lives with their encouragement and eager participation in countless events for many years. Marilyn was always seen carrying bags and boxes loaded with thoughtful provision for every gathering and event. She has such a ready smile and a positive attitude. She was always ready for an adventure and willing to roll up her sleeves and get the job done.
Marilyn and Steve served alongside each other not only in the church, but in their business. Both of them working late into the night and early mornings doing Building Maintenance and janitorial work together. They were inseparable.
Wednesday morning October 24th Marilyn passed away unexpectedly, peacefully in her own home. What a loss- she was ready for heaven but so much in love with the life God had for her here.
Steve finds himself in a huge transition, as well as dealing with the grief of being without his partner, his Cruise director, his chief of operations and the love of his life.
We are asking the community that they have both impacted and blessed over and over again to seize the opportunity to care for Steve, in this transition as he navigates the financial pressures and challenges that come with this great loss..
We are asking that you would do two things:
1. Would you please help us support Steve financially by donating to this fund?
Or, if you prefer to give a tax deductible contribution you may go through www.livelyhope.org to make a donation with the note “ Marilyn” and we will forward all funds directly to Steve.
2. Would you please help us get the word out of this worthwhile opportunity to do a kindness for this Pastor and friend who has given so much to so many.
We will update you on the plans for a celebration of life for Marilyn. We do know that it will be November 24th in Milwaukee at 10 a.m., and that we will be having a potluck lunch.
Caring for people is what Marilyn did best, she taught us so much about honoring the people that the Lord brings to you. She was an insatiable learner and a relentless encourager.
This is our chance to give back. We can't think of a better place to start then with supporting Steve Doss as he moves through this challenging loss and season of change.
