Memorial for Kristie Whitfield

Donation protected

On April 24th Kristie Whitfield was tragically killed after the van transporting her and sixteen others flipped over and caught fire on I85.

Ten people were able to be recovered from the van, six people died on scene. Kristie unfortunately got caught in the back where the fire started. She was recovered but later succumbed to her injuries at Grady Memorial Hospital.

She had been burned so badly that she could only be identified by dental records.

She was a loving mother of two and a grandmother to the wonderful four year old that I’ve been raising with her daughter for going on three years. She also leaves behind her own mother and four of her siblings.

We are trying to raise money to give her the memorial she deserves, where all her friends and family will be able to celebrate her life and generous heart. We are hoping to have it at Botanical Gardens which is a reserve fee of $3,000. We fully understand that this goal may not be met, it is a lot of money but anything you can give gets us closer to doing something special, whatever that may be.

Please pray for us and the other families that lost a loved one in this tragic accident. God be with us.
