On March 1, 2025—tragically, the anniversary of his son Patrick’s passing—Kelly Edgar McCracken suffered a devastating fall down a flight of stairs, resulting in a significant brain injury that changed his life forever. Doctors offered little hope, but Kelly’s son, Matthew, refused to give up on him. Instead of “pulling the plug,” Matthew brought Kelly home, determined to give him every chance at healing and every moment of love the family could offer. Against all odds, Kelly began to make miraculous progress. After months of dedicated care, he was preparing to start rehabilitation—something that had once seemed impossible. Although he was no longer the same Kelly he had been before the accident, the time he spent surrounded by family became deeply meaningful for everyone. Those 8½ months at home were filled with connection, love, and small blessings that his family will cherish forever.

Sadly, just as hope was growing, Kelly was struck by pneumonia and sepsis. Despite fighting with everything he had, he passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025. Kelly’s family is now facing unexpected and overwhelming burial expenses after nearly a year of medical and caregiving challenges. They are asking for support to give Kelly the dignified farewell he deserves—one that honors his strength, his love for his family, and the incredible fight he put forward.
