Memorial for Kaitlin Veillon
Donation protected
As the friends and family of Kaitlin Marie Veillon, “Kit-Kat” to her loved ones, we gather together to lift her up and celebrate the 20-year old beauty she was. Kaitlin was the loving daughter of the large devoted families and expanded families of the Solis and Veillons. She was a big sister to two amazing twin little brothers, who she cared for daily. She treasured her Dad, Kirk Veillon, and the fun times they spent together. Her mother, Jennifer Solis Whittington, was her biggest fan, protector, defender, confidant, and all around best friend. Kaitlin adored her mother for the self-less sacrifices she made and the unconditional love she so freely provided. Their relationship was profound and entertaining. From the serious day to day life decisions and guidance to the DVR’ing their favorite TV shows and laughing about Kaitlin hacking her mother’s Facebook account. No matter the day, no matter the challenge, there was a bottomless abundance of love between them and their family. Kaitlin was a child when her seizures started and lived bravely with her condition with her family by her side. She endured countless medical obstacles, challenges, and testing throughout the years. Kaitlin’s epilepsy prevented her from some of the things in life other teenagers took for granted, but her loved ones celebrated her uniqueness and made amazing memories with her that will now have to last them a lifetime. Today God’s plan for Kaitlin was complete. She grew her wings and joined her Pawpaw in Heaven.
When the days of life seem hard, I look to you. When life is complicated and gloomy, I look to you. When I have to make those difficult choices, I look to you. When the day is tiring and I feel I have nothing else to give, I look to you. When the tragedies of life fall upon my shoulders, I cry out to you. Oh, God hold her and keep her as life as we know it has been changed forever more.
As tragedies collide with our normal lives, nothing is ever normal again. An opportunity arises for those of us eager and willing to help to exhibit the acts of human kindness this family has always shared with others. As the childhood friends of Jennifer, we ask, not because the family asks, but because we are moved to a higher calling to help in their time of pain, sorrow, and loss.
Jennifer and her family have endured so many medical challenges over the last year with monitoring Kaitlin’s seizures, to her little brother’s brain surgery in March to remove a tumor, to the passing of Kaitlin’s grandfather just 3 short weeks ago.
Please join us as we come together to raise funds to lift this family up during a time that no parent would ever want to face. We hope to raise money for any additional funeral expenses they may need, cover unexpected costs of the most recent events as well as contribute to a memorial fund that will benefit her two young brothers.
From the smallest contributions to the greatest of your generosity, we express our deepest gratitude and appreciation of your kindness for our friend and her loving family. With all of our love, Christina Castaneda Puente, Mandi Martin-Garsea, Katie Breaux Gerdin, and Christel Gary Picou.
