Memorial for JT Evans

Funds donated to this post will go directly to the Evans' family for medical expenses (25 days in ICU is insane), travel already incurred and JTs memorial service.

My nephew, Jason (JT) Evans, is the toughest kid I know. He fought like hell to stay alive and recover from a devastating motorcycle accident on May 21 in San Francisco. His family and friends created the tag "JTStrong" after witnessing his strength, courage and will to live, and I am here to tell you the impact this young man has had on so many people has given many of us new found strength and courage to live on, fully present and JTStrong!

It is hard to talk about, but I'm sure you can imagine how tough this is. JT passed away peacefully last night after 25 days in SF General Hospital ICU, undergoing countless surgeries, procedures and care by the best surgeons, doctors, nurses and assistants all families deserve, and JT received. Thank you to SF General, and to all our extended families, friends and coworkers who have supported and loved all of us through this. The power of prayer and just reaching out to say you believed in his strength was felt and heard by JT, and inspired and lifted those of us closest to him.

On behalf of my beloved sister and JT's ma, Christy Evans and JT's dad, Maurice Evans and JT's brother, Isaiah Evans, we invite you all to get closer to those you love, enjoy your lives fully, and let go of any baggage weighing you down. Get and stay JTStrong!
