My name is Mindy and I am one of Josh's sisters. We lost Joshua in a tragic swimming accident a few days ago. Josh was born on March 8, 1974 and was taken from us on August 11, 2022 while spending his day with friends during a swim fun day at his area Day Camp for Mentally challenged adults. Sadly, my father got the news that Joshua was missing when boarding the transport bus back to the facility. Shortly after my father received that second call, he was hit with the most devastating news we could ever imagine. Josh was found at the bottom of the pool in which he and his camp friends had been playing, it was too late.
Josh had Autism and was very active in the community for many years. Josh served as a volunteer for a long time at the Hays County Food Bank ( which he says is where he retired ). He received many awards from the Hays County food bank that he and our family are very proud of. After his retirment at his volunteer position at the Hays County Food Bank, Josh joined area Day Camps for the Mentally Challenged Adults where he made many more friends, went on field trips, assisted in fundraising... and Josh's favorite, Bowling!
Josh did not have a life insurance policy as the family never thought his life would end so soon and tragically. Please find it in your heart to help the family with funding for his funeral and memorial service. Josh would really want us to share his life celebration with anyone who he has served, knew, befriended and cared for. Josh was a very unique and special man who had strong Christian faith and Love for All.
