On May 15, 2023, we lost Janelle Staige (Blackwelder) Fetzer, a dear daughter, sister, mother, wife, and friend. She was 45.

About 2 years ago Janelle was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer which had spread aggressively to her liver.

Janelle leaves behind her daughter Madeleine, age 5, who was the light of her life. Mads is feisty, energetic, and loves to be silly. She brought so much joy to her mom.

Throughout Janelle’s ordeal, she was supported unflinchingly by her husband Roy Fetzer, a former Sergeant in the US Army and Superintendent for the Logan "Hotshot" Forest Service fire crew.

Janelle’s fight against cancer was costly and many have expressed a desire to support her family. We set up this donation site for 3 primary purposes:

1. Cover Janelle’s final expenses

2. Settle her outstanding medical obligations

3. Establish an education fund that Janelle wished to leave for Madeleine

We deeply appreciate the outpouring of love, support, and kindness from so many who were touched by Janelle.
