On the morning of December 23rd, while families everywhere were preparing for holiday celebrations, our lives were changed forever. We lost our father, Gregory Robinson, in a tragic house fire that claimed his life and everything he owned. Gregory was a proud, disabled retired veteran who called Aberdeen, South Dakota home for over 10 years. To us, he wasn’t just a veteran; he was the heart of our family. He was a father of five and a grandfather to sixteen grandchildren who absolutely adored him.
If you knew Greg, you knew his door was always open. He was a man with a massive heart who spent his life helping others and offering wisdom. He found his greatest joy in the simple things: the roar of a motorcycle, the quiet of a fishing hole, loud music, and—most of all—BBQ. He loved to cook, and he made sure nobody ever walked away from his table hungry. He spent his days reminiscing about his parents and friends, and he lived for his children and grandkids. Family was his entire world.
The fire took everything. We didn't just lose our father; we lost every photo, every piece of paperwork, and every physical memory of his life. As we navigate this investigation and grieve this sudden, tragic loss, we are also faced with the reality of the financial burden. We are seeking help to cover his final expenses and burial costs so we can lay him to rest with the dignity he deserves. This tragedy has set our family back significantly, and any contribution—no matter how small—will go directly toward his memorial and helping our family pick up the pieces. Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and for helping us honor a man who spent his life giving to everyone else.
