Dr. Donald Jarnagin served many roles within his life, one of the most notable being Dean of the Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry. Dr. Jarnagin sadly passed away on March 2nd, 2019 while serving on a mission trip to Guatemala doing what he loved.
Dr. Jarnagin was kind, gentle, had a great heart and a contagious laugh. A laugh that could make even the impossible feel possible.
A soul like Dr. J's is rare. He was a giant in the field of optometry. He was the embodiment of his friends, family, students, faculty, and so much more. It is the reason memorializing him in the place he loved coming to for so many years is perfect.
It is my goal to raise money to create a memorial on campus dedicated in his name. I hope that each and every one of you (whether you knew him or not), can visit the memorial and feel an ounce of his warmth, hear his laugh, and be reminded of how wonderful he was.
Dr. Donald Jarnagin, we love you. Gone, but never forgotten.
