Memorial For Dave Sloan
Donation protected

We are all left with the precious memories, stories and antics that will continue to bring us joy until we meet with him again. Memories for a lifetime ! Sheila would say, "Life was never boring with Dave Sloan”. He fostered the 40-plus year relationship with all of us that ultimately serves as the framework for our heartbreak today. God Bless you Dave Sloan, May You Rest in Peace, May Perpetual Light Shine upon You. You taught us to be like a pair of scissors: joined in the center, sometimes going in opposite directions but chopping to pieces anything that got between us. Thank you for making our team of misfits into a competitive force on the ice and then into a family years later and for years to come, thank you for cultivating these relationships that forged us into the Band of Brothers that we are today.
To finish this the MAN on the right with his coaching hat from the year I met him, 1978, was his staple! When not on the bench it was a Montreal Canadiens Red Hat. He never explained why, but it was Davey. This picture also shows his reach in the hockey world, all NYC NHL teams were represented and before you say not the Islanders, Pat LaFontaine changed Jerseys because the Brick Boys were all Ranger Fans. Davey, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, change hats as you look down on us, God blessed US with you, blessed us when you would bring Warchol or Ozzie to practice, blessed us with what "Old School Hockey" was, and maybe not blessed but showed us what winning at all costs, and more importantly, what losing, felt like.
