Memorial Field Improvement Project is Underway

My name is Bill Kelly. I am the President of the Dobbs Ferry Youth Little League .

The Dobbs Ferry Youth Little League (DFYLL) is a 100% volunteer-run organization serving more than 300 T-ball, Softball, and Baseball players and their families in the Dobbs Ferry community.

In April 2022, DFYLL kicked off a fundraising effort to improve our home field located at Memorial Park on Palisade St. in Dobbs Ferry. The field was in desperate need of improvements – aged, significantly worn and vulnerable to weather, and lacking appeal to competing Leagues that preferred not to play on our field.

Thanks to the generosity of the Dobbs Ferry community, DFYLL raised enough funds to begin the project, and in October 2022, the Village of Dobbs Ferry Board of Trustees voted to accept the donation of the field renovation project. The project broke ground in November! We are on target to host Opening Day in Spring 2023 on a fresh new field!

However, due to global challenges impacting us all, the costs of materials, transport, and labor have considerably increased since we kicked off this project in the spring of 2022. We need just a bit more help to complete this project by way of an additional $20,000 to reach our revised goal.
