On the morning of February 9th 2022 at 1:02 AM, my brother Ethan and I, received a call from the Miami Dade police department, that would confirm one of our biggest fears. We received the news that our dad, Asbel Cancio had suddenly passed. He was not sick, so the news has come as a shock to everyone involved. For those of you who are close to us know that our mom Brandie, will have passed away 6 years ago this month. With that being said, Ethan and I now have to learn to navigate our lives losing not one, but both of our parents. Our dad was our support system and guiding light and did nothing but support our dreams and endeavors, even though it meant pursuing moving out of FL to do so. I will be applying to medical school next cycle, and Ethan has a baby boy due in 2 weeks, and we are devastated that our parents will not physically be here for these events. My brother and I are dealing with this from out of state, until we are able to make it down to Miami at the end of the month. With this coming as such a shock, we were not in any way prepared financially to handle something like this, and our main concern right now, is to make sure our dad's physical entity is put to rest properly, and the way that he wanted. Anything would be of great help, even if it's just sharing this link. To everyone that has reached out, showed support/love, and those of you who will in the days and weeks to come, thank you.
