My name is Chrisa Gamez and this page is for those who wish to donate toward my father Ray Gamez's end-of-life expenses. Ray lived in Racine, Wisconsin for the last 13 years of his life. He passed away just four days after his 63rd birthday on Monday, August 9th, 2021. All are welcome to attend his memorial at St. Patrick Parish of Racine on Friday, August 27th at 3pm (visitation from 2-3pm). A memorial in El Paso, Texas will be held in September (details to come).

Ray was born in El Paso, Texas and lived there for most of his life. He was a popular football player at El Paso High School and many took to his charismatic and humorous nature. He married young, had two children and worked as an auto salesman for two decades. In his forties, he finished his undergraduate degree in political science from University of Texas, El Paso. His acceptance at The Law School at University of Wisconsin-Madison took him north where he enjoyed the hunting, sports and friendly culture that Wisconsin had to offer.  Upon graduation, he practiced as a criminal defense attorney both for the Wisconsin State Public Defender Office and as a private attorney. Ray was bilingual and helped many Spanish speaking clients in the area. 

Ray had many exceptional traits such as a wonderful sense of humor, compassionate affect, and desire to help those in need. His illness came on quickly and Ray did not plan his affairs in such a way would make this an easy and straightforward process.

My mom Victoria, myself and a close family member Gary Armijo have already shared some costs. There will be more to be covered such as cremation (1,300) and two small memorial services.  

Donations are not expected but are certainly appreciated. 

I will be responsible for allocation of funds.
