Hello, my name is Roman and I am Nick's youngest brother. Growing up with him he was my best friend and taught my family and I so much. Sadly it seems my brother's life was full of adversity to the last second, at the young age of 5 he broke his leg, requiring screws in his knee. At the age of 15 he was diagnosed with Leukemia, cancer in his blood cells. And finally at the age of 23 my brother was an innocent victim of an extremely reckless driver that was fleeing from the police. Along with 2 of his coworkers, Fnan Measho, and Eric Orduna he was taken from us.
When Nick had Leukemia he fought bravely and rigorously for about 3 years and went into remission. It was anything but easy, but my brother persevered. Up until that point Nick had changed so many lives and showed true strength above all. Personally, Nick was a pillar of my universe, and one of my biggest role models. He was everything to my family, just an absolute angel even before he passed.
Nick was a family man. For his girlfriend Jasmin he'd do/say the silliest things to make her laugh and smile. For his siblings he'd make special time for all 3 of us, like playing video games with Sergio and I, or going hiking in Colorado with our sister Lucy. For our parents Nick would often take our mom lunch at work, and he'd call our dad to catch up. Nick in so many ways was the best friend, brother, and son. And we all made sure to love him just as much as his huge heart loved us. Even now though, my brother's love is all around us. I'm grateful to have had him in my life, and will carry that love with me everyday. Thank you Nick.
