If you’ve ever met Homie, he was someone who was hard to forget. I mean how many people named Homie have you met? He always had a smile on his face and a drink in his hand. He was everyone’s “I’m down” man - always down for a night out. Homie left this world too soon, but has now found his peace.
We appreciate the outpouring of love and support and want to keep the momentum going. We want to give him the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Homie AKA Ronald Jay Torres's funeral and memorial to help lessen the burden on his mom.
My name is Sonny Downey, I am a long-time friend and a liaison to Ronald Jay "Homie" Torres's family, Luisa Torres (mother) and Lani Halpin (sister).
Below is an outline of how many has been spent and how what will happen to the remaining funds:
Eternity Funeral Homes - Cremation Cost, Casket Rental, Venue Rental - $2,240.00
Kuhn Flowers - Flowers for Funeral Service at Eternity Funeral Homes - $1,045.81
Chappel Hills Memory Gardens - Memorial Garden for Final Resting Place of Urn - $7,941.97
The amount referenced above have already been paid, the following items are anticipated cost:
Celebration of Life Event - Monday, February 1, 2021 - $1,500
The family, Luisa Torres (mother) and Lani Halpin (sister) have assigned me as custodian and have authorized me to collect the funds raised through GOFUNDME. As custodian I will ensure timely payment of any reimbursements and anticipated cost which is referenced above.
The remaining money, which was projected on 1/7/2021 to be $4,090 will be paid with a certified check to his mother, Luisa Torres.
