My mom was struck by an SUV on Memorial Day while crossing the street. The driver did not stop or call 911 but instead left her in the middle of the street to be run over by other vehicles. My mom is in the ICU with internal bleeding from a lacerated liver as well as multiple broken bones and fractures to the head, spine, knee, ankle, ribs, arms, and hand. She suffered a traumatic brain injury as well. She is expected to survive but will have a long hospital course as well as a long road to recovery to walk again.

A little about my mom - She is a 63-year-old grandmother who is known as the 'crochet lady' because she makes beautiful blankets for family/friends, hats for babies in the NICU, and scarves/hats for the homeless. She is the widow of her high school sweetheart, who passed away just 3 years ago after 37+ years of marriage. She is a cat lover who loves to spoil "Rocco", her grey/white tabby she adopted after the passing of her husband.
