My name is Gabby Diaz-Daws and I am the only son of my amazing mother, Tina Marie Diaz. My mother suddenly passed on April 26th, 2026. She was the most generous and supportive person you would ever meet. I feel as though there are not enough words in the world that can describe how good of a person she was. She was the type of person to give someone the clothes off her back. She supported me no matter what, my entire life. She also spent her life supporting others. Tina worked as a private investigator for the Public Defender's Office in St. Bernard Parish. She spent her time ensuring that her clients were treated fairly and provided them with anything they needed, whether it be clothes for trial, legal guidance, or just being someone to listen to them. My mother was an extraordinary person. Outside of her career at the Public Defender's Office, she was an avid crafter. She created Diaz Art in 2025 as a way to share her resin jewelry and other forms of art with the public. She hoped to create a piece for everyone. She enjoyed setting up at local markets and it was often something her and I did together. In these markets, she found a wonderful community filled with wonderful people and she enjoyed every second of it. She could not have been more grateful for all of the people in her life. I could write a novel about how awesome my mom was. I love her more than I could possibly say with words and nothing can describe the pain I am feeling from her passing.
I am starting this fundraiser to help cover the cost of her cremation and her celebration of life, as well as the upcoming household expenses. With the current state of the economy, the raising of our rent, and numerous vehicle issues, we had been facing financial hardship. No one was prepared for this. My mom understood that everyone was struggling with something and she always chose to help others, even when she was struggling too. I ask with the heaviest heart that others are able to help us now.
Services will be held after Mother's Day and more information will be provided later on. If you are able to donate, I also request that you share a fond memory you have of my mom as I enjoying hearing about them. Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you all for the support I have already been given, my mom would appreciate it.
I love you always, mom.
