Memorial costs for Marshall Vallelunga

Hi, my name is Diana Vallelunga, Marshall Vallelunga's daughter. I am writing on behalf of my family. On Wednesday, November 17, 2021, my father unexpectedly passed away doing one of the things he loved, which was Scuba Diving. If you knew Marshall, you knew how determined, strong-willed, and resilient he was. Marshall was an Information Systems and Technology professor at Cal State LA, as well as a Doctoral candidate at Claremont Graduate University.

Marshall pursued a B.S in Airway Science with an emphasis in Aircraft Systems Management at National University and later pursued his Master's degree in Information Systems and Technology at Cal State LA. In his early college days, he worked on the SR71 Blackbird by stress-testing the plane's wings in a top-secret facility. In addition, he did ROTC and eventually joined the National Guard where he severed as an officer for 10 years working with heavy artillery. He believed in peace-keeping and while serving in the National Guard he helped quell down the Rodney King Riots. On the side, he ran his own DJ company with his best friend, Marty, called ELC. Along with ELC, Marshall was incredibly passionate about playing ice hockey. In the most recent years, he owned and ran an advanced-level championship ice hockey team called the Violators which he was very proud of. Furthermore, Marshall was a certified Pilot, Scuba Diver, and a Skii Instructor who loved experiencing the world to its fullest at every chance he had.

Marshall touched so many people's lives. He had a deep love for teaching and a strong bond with his students. He made it his mission to make sure every student he encountered knew someone believed and supported them. Above all, the love for his family was unbreakable. His wife of 35 years Nina, his children Brian and Diana, his dog Lucky, and all his extended family meant the world to him. He will forever hold a special place in our hearts and his legacy will never be forgotten.
