We are fundraising for a memorial bench in honour of our forever Soulboy Khalil Fong in Sydney.
His music offered the world a moment of peace. His kindness, empathy, strength, and selflessness helped bridge the worlds of Western and Chinese culture. Always humble and grounded, he let his music speak - gently, lovingly, and powerfully transformed the lives of many.
The idea for this memorial bench began with a simple thought:
To leave a quiet place in this city he once visited, where people can sit, reflect, and remember him.
Location: Royal Botanic Garden
We explored many parks across different areas, but most were restricted by local council regulations. Eventually, we chose the Sydney Royal Botanic Garden - a peaceful and central location near Circular Quay and the Sydney Opera House, and easily accessible. It is a place where many come to walk, rest, and connect with nature.
According to the Garden's official website, the bench donation will support the vital work in the areas of science, horticulture, education and maintaining the Royal Botanic Garden's living collection.
The exact location of the bench and the wording on the plaque are still being finalised in consultation with the Garden’s management. We will share updates once everything is confirmed.
Cost:
The total cost for the memorial bench is AUD $19,500. This includes the bench, plaque, installation, and ten years of maintenance.

一開始搜尋了好幾個不同地方的公園，但多數都因各地議會的限制而無法實現。
最終決定把長椅選擇在Royal Botanic Garden（皇家植物園）。Royal Botanic Garden（皇家植物園）位於市中心，鄰近在Circular quay與Opera House（悉尼歌劇院），交通便利且安靜，便於大家前往。Royal Botanic Garden（皇家植物園）同時也是一處很多民衆散步休息的地方。根據Royal Botanic Garden（皇家植物園）官方資訊，紀念長椅的資金除了長椅本身、銘牌及維護，Royal Botanic Garden（皇家植物園）也會將部分款項用於環境保育（如保護物種及生態系統）、植物生物研究、公衆教育項目（包括成人與兒童的教育項目）、園區設施，以及館藏興建等。
目前長椅的具體地點與銘牌的文案仍在與植物園管理方溝通中，之後方能落實，將於後續進一步確認。
