Memorial bench for Greg & mental health awareness
Donation protected
Greg Place sadly lost his battle with mental illness when he took his own life in December at the age of 19 years old. This is a heartbreaking shock to the local community. Greg, an amazing passionate character was handsome and bright. A young entrepreneur, proud owner of GP Valeting, was loved and appreciated by so many people. Greg always had time for everyone. We would love to celebrate his successes and remember the joy and precious memories Greg brought to our lives.
This fundraiser will go towards a memorial bench in Williamson's park, which was one of Greg's favorite places to visit. the idea of the bench serves a purpose for loved ones of Greg to have a place to remember him. But also as a place for all people to have a place to sit and talk in a beautiful, relaxing place about issues, instead of having to suffer in silence.
The additional money raised will be donated to Papyrus, a mental health and suicide prevention charity. We would like to fight the stigma against mental health and help others understand issues and allow them to seek help and assist others when needed. mental illness shouldn't be ignored, people shouldn't stand alone.
I hope you are all doing well. Please take time to look out for your friends and family and remember to be nice to everyone you meet, you may not understand what others could possibly be going through.
thank you for taking time to read this. Suicide is the most common cause of death in young men in the UK. I hope we, together can have an impact on our society, ensuring and improving the good well-being and high quality of life of everyone around us. Have a blessed new year and take care.
Noor Jian will hold responsibility for withdrawing the funds and distributing them to both beneficiaries, Papyrus suicide prevention and Lancaster city council for the bench.
Thank you very much.
