Memorial Bench in Honour of Darren Werner
Donation protected
Two years ago, on September 16, 2021, my world was turned upside down when my father went missing. Each day since has been a painful journey filled with uncertainty and longing for his return. As we continue to search for answers and hold onto hope, I want to create a lasting tribute to my dad's memory.
I'd like to establish a memorial bench at the Niagara Glen, a place he cherished most and a place where we shared many beautiful moments and countless laughs on our hiking adventures.
You may know my dad as a friend from General Motors where he worked as a millwright for many years, or as the chicken man with the farm in NOTL. Perhaps you stored your vehicle with him in one of the barns or saw him driving around in the WW2 army jeep with his shepherds. Or maybe you met him in the hockey arena where my brother, Mike, played hockey or at one of my gymnastics competitions. Then again, maybe you met him at Sherkston Shores and went boating with him or shared a laugh and a drink. You might have met him at White Oaks working out (he didn’t miss a day). No matter where you met him, he likely had a dog or two with him. And he probably made you smile or laugh at one of his outrageous stories. My charming dad could talk! In any case, I’m sure he left a lasting impression.
I hope this memorial bench provides an opportunity for you to reflect on the good times and honour the one of a kind man he truly was.
Your support, regardless of the amount, will play a vital role in making this tribute a reality. Please consider contributing and sharing this campaign with your friends and family. Your generosity will ensure that my father’s memory lives on in a place that held a special spot in his heart.
Thank you for standing by my side during this difficult journey and for helping to create a beautiful memorial that honours my dad’s life and his deep love for the Niagara Glen.
