We are Caleb Scoville and Olivia Deane, and we are raising funds for a memorial bench in honor of our father, Richard William Scoville, who passed away suddenly on July 22, 2026, at 63.

Our father spent most of his life in Humboldt County, and loved its beaches, rivers, bays, lagoons, trails, and forests. We would like to place the bench somewhere that mattered to him, a lasting spot where family, friends, and community can visit, reflect, and feel close to him again.

The precise details are still in the works, but we have identified organizations and agencies that install and maintain memorial benches in locations that were meaningful to our father, and have spoken with others in the area who have experience sponsoring them. We have a good sense of the cost, and every contribution brings us closer.
