Memorial Bench for Len Helmers

Len loved cycling. He met his wife Karen though a cycling club in Miami, forced 30 mile bike rides through the Blue Ridge Mountains on his daughter Ally, and was still riding 50 miles a day when he was diagnosed with cancer at 67. Even after losing a fair amount of strength, he would still at least take weekly rides with Karen (and Ally and Gregg when they were in town) to Sandsprit Park. The routine always involved taking a short water break, sitting on a bench and looking at the water. 

In memory of those rides with his family, we will be donating a a memorial bench to Sandsprit Park in memory of our Len.
