Hello all,
the goal of this GoFundMe is to try and raise money for a memorial bench to honor and remember James Wray. He loved the outdoors and a bench would be an exceptional way to create a special and meaningful space where we can all go to remember him, and also to help memorialize and share his legacy with the greater community. The aim is to have this bench somewhere on the Spencer’s Butte Ridgeline Trail, an area he enjoyed frequently.
Shortly after hearing of Jimmy’s passing I contacted Eugene Parks Department and got this project on their waiting list, which they indicated would likely be a few months before any project could start. Per their staff this money would go towards: a concrete slab, installation of a metal bench with memorial plaque, and ongoing maintenance guaranteed for 10 years.
So lets show our love for Jimmy and make this happen!
Note: This fundraising is being done with the knowledge and approval/input from Jimmy’s family.
In the event we fundraise beyond the goal, or are not able to raise the full amount, the intention will be to donate all money in Jimmy’s name to a charity of his family’s choosing.
