Guillermo and Zafar were extraordinary. To know them was to love them. They loved hard, treated everyone like family, and made people feel seen. Their warmth brought us together, and losing them leaves a profound void in so many hearts.

They were taken from us far too soon, and they did not deserve such violence. To honor them, we’re creating a memorial bench in Scoville Park in Oak Park, IL. It will be a peaceful place to gather, reflect, and celebrate two gorgeous men who gave so much. This will be a lasting tribute to their beautiful spirits and to the love they lived, loudly and proudly.

The initial goal of $2,000 will cover the installation of a plaque for Guillermo and Zafar. Any remaining funds will cover GoFundMe transaction fees, and the rest will be donated to the Center on Halsted. Thank you for helping carry their legacy of love and inclusion forward.
