Memorial bench for Gretchen

This campaign is to help fund the installation of a second memorial bench to honor Gretchen Elsner-Sommer, who passed away on August 14, 2020. The bench will be installed in a new park facing the lower side of Argo Dam. In her last walks, Gretchen was most intrigued about the construction of a pathway through a previously inaccessible side of the Huron River. At the time, the project seemed to offer a direct route between our home and the Ann Arbor railroad station. That proved true, while also offering an extraordinary perspective on water coming off the dam. The City of Ann Arbor expects to install the bench summer 2022. It will be the first bench in this new park. Friends and family of Gretchen have indicated an interest in honoring her life. . .so the recommendation here is to limit donations to a maximum of $50 to permit many of us to share in celebrating and remembering Gretchen. The campaign opens on her birthday, January 15. Thank you.
