Memorial Bench at Toledo Zoo for Laura Boltz Elvey
Donation protected
Laura Boltz Elvey, Beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, “grammy”, and friend to so many, sadly passed away two short weeks after a diagnosis of Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer and a series of strokes.
Her family, co-workers and friends at the Toledo Zoo, long time school friends and many others dear to her have been deeply affected by the outpouring of love, fond memories and stories shared by so many whose lives she touched.
Her loved ones and friends would like to raise $1,500 in order to donate a bench to honor her memory at the Toledo Zoo, where she enjoyed working for 23 years. All donations will go towards purchasing the bench, and anything over will go to her husband Mark.
Laura was faith-filled and she and her husband Mark of 21 years were very involved in their church. Together they performed during church services, both singing, Laura with her sweet soprano voice, and Mark playing guitar.
Laura had strong family ties and adored watching and spending time with her grandkids, not to mention her many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, all of whom always held a special place in her life. She was blessed with two wonderful parents, Larry “Bud” and Gladys Boltz, and older siblings Linda, Ken and Janet. Her mom Gladys passed away in 2018, and Laura is now reunited with her in Heaven.
