On May 11th our mother, Nita Sage, had a heart attack and passed away very unexpectedly. She left behind a devastated family and unfortunately a mountain of medical bills. Nita, at 64, did not have health insurance when she passed, and tragically was only about a month away from qualifying for Medicare. She had already picked out her plan and received insurance cards that would have gone into effect July 1st.

Our father and her devoted husband of 43 years, Russ, is now not only left grieving for the love of his life but also struggling with the hospital bills that just keep coming.

Our mom was a selfless person who spent her entire life caring for others without ever asking anything in return.  She loved without measure and was always there for anyone who needed her. She was a dedicated wife and mother to her two daughters but made everyone feel like family.

Having her pass so unexpectedly without the opportunity to say goodbye has been the hardest thing my family has ever had to endure. This unimaginable situation is being made worse, by the thousands upon thousands of dollars in medical bills that are piling up. From the bottom of our broken hearts we are asking for help for our father and family; help that will allow us to stop worrying about the medical bills and start trying to heal.

Donations will only be used to pay for funeral expenses and medical bills. Any funds received in excess of these costs will be donated to the Shriners Hospital in Cincinnati. That hospital helped save my mother when she was badly burned as a child.
