Today we received the painful confirmation that the our dad’s home in Paradise, CA was lost during the Camp Fire. While we are eternally thankful that he and our stepmom Marichu are safe, we all can’t help but feel heartbroken.
When the evacuation warning was issued, our dad left his work in Oroville, 25 miles away, to make his way back to Marichu who works at a senior living facility in Paradise. Together they helped evacuate senior citizens, during which time they unfortunately lost the opportunity to return to their home and grab any belongings. Without even a change of clothes, they thankfully made their way to safety.
We have started this go fund me in hopes it may relieve some of the financial stresses that come with a tragedy like this. They have lost all of their belongings, and any donation to help them get through this hard time means so much.
