Melton Family Needs Your Help
Donation protected
For this family of six, life changed in an instant. Instead of waiting on the arrival of their new baby, they found themselves in a car accident waiting to be discovered on an empty rural road, in desperate need of medical attention. Suffering several breaks and dislocations, Windy, who is 39 weeks pregnant, fared better than her husband, Shawn, who received a critical head injury. Mercifully, the three girls ages 6 - 10, appeared to have only minor injuries. Within 30 minutes of the wreck, the Meltons were discovered on the evening of June 9th and flown to different hospitals.
Miraculously, all signs point to a healthy baby, and with any luck Windy will have her injuries treated before bringing her new life into the world. But Shawn’s condition remains precarious, and only so much can be know by the doctors this soon after the accident. At this moment there is no “road to recovery” for this family – they are in the middle of a crisis with limited support, and the extent of harm to this family is yet to be understood. But these little girls, mom, and dad are in desperate need of kindness from friends and strangers alike. Anyone who has been through an accident such as this understands that much healing is needed beyond the physical. I’m not ashamed to say that this family needs much more than what our financial blessing could offer, so please keep them in your prayers. Nevertheless, if the weight of financial burden is one thing we could take from this family, I hope you’ll join in giving them this gift. Every contribution is an encouragement to them, and there is no amount too small. We hope to raise $5,000 for the Meltons, intended as short term assistance in meeting expenses such as travel, motels, priority bills, and everyday living needs. While tragedies like this may not be uncommon, please don’t be numb to this family’s circumstances, they need your support!
