Hello everyone, my name is Amanda Ricker and I’m starting this GoFundMe for my husband Mel Ricker.

We have fallen on some exceptionally hard times both emotionally and financially. Mel has been courageously battling stage 4 liver and colon cancer for the past 2 1/2 years. Up until a few months ago, he has managed to still work part time at his job of 24 years despite the grueling, chemo treatments and overwhelming stress to support him and myself. We have been together 13 years and he has selflessly supported and taken care of me as I struggled through my own debilitating health problems. Due to no fault of his own or lack of trying, it is impossible for him to work at all now due to the fact that the chemo is now attacking his vision. He has lost Total sigh in one eye and the other eye is soon to follow. This has caused him to make several errors at his job and they had no choice but to let him go. Between the rising cost of essentials, food, housing, energy, and gas, along with the high cost of healthcare, co-pays and deductibles what was once a substantial savings account is now totally depleted. He has worked hard his whole life and has always been there for me, his family and friends in their time of need. It breaks my heart to watch him struggle now. It’s time to help him through this extremely difficult time. I ask you to please give generously however any and all donations, no matter how small will be greatly appreciated.
