Melonoma skin cancer surgery

My husband has melonoma skin cancer. He had surgery to remove it. Now he has a hole in his nose which was suppose to be repaired on Tuesday. We were called by the hospital today saying that the insurance will only cover $6000 of a $62,000 procedure and they will not do it until we pay $23,00 of it. If we do not do it soon the nose will collapse and we will have a whole new problem. Pleeeeease help. We are very proud and private people to ask for help is soooo hard.
