Melody's Healing Journey

This fundraiser is for my mom Melody who was recently diagnosed with an invasive, and aggressive cancer that affects 15-20% of the breast cancer population.  This is her story.

Four years ago, I started preparing for a Spartan Race. During that time, I ate foods to strengthen my body and I worked out 2+ hours a day. I wasn't just running the race, I was in it to score high in my age group. Hard work paid off because I did quite well and wasn't even tired when I crossed over the finish line.
Well today, I start preparing for something much bigger. Today I am putting on the Armor of God to fight for my life.

On Feb. 1st, I was diagnosed with Tripple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer. With this type of cancer, it doesn't stop with just your breast, it invades other parts of your body like little stray cats, as my doctor called them. The last 2 weeks have been a blur for my family and I. All within a week, I've had an MRI, Bone Scan, Ultrasound, Mammogram, blood drawn, and multiple doctor appointments with of course multiple doctors. Next week I will have a port put in, so I can begin Chemo as soon as possible. After, this I will have surgery.

Friends, I need support and lots of it. Cards, index cards with bible verses, pictures of yourselves or of your animals. All of these, I will post on my walls, to remind me that life is worth fighting for. Anything to make me smile when my heart is breaking. I will also have a " Go Fund Me" page set up for those that feel led to help in that way. No pressure though.

A couple things I ask though are, please respect the choice of treatment I have chosen. Believe me there weren't many options at this point. Plus, just for the next few weeks text only. Most of all please PRAY, PRAY, and PRAY some more. I truly appreciate it.

If you don't know my mom, she is an energetic, compassionate, loving, and generous woman who feeds the homeless on Friday nights and volunteers her time creating and quilting beautiful quilts for babies, friends and family.  She is a mother of six grown children and nine grandchildren.  We want her to be able to have the best chance at fighting this battle.

The money raised through this site will go towards medical bills, mortgage payments, utilities and groceries while she is going through treatment.

Thank you for visiting this page, and for supporting her either financially or in your prayers and thoughts.
