In Loving Memory of Melody Craig Fenex
April 29, 1968 – November 12, 2020

Melody Fenex was... light. On behalf of her devastated family, and with unparalleled grief that we share the heartbreaking news that Riverside’s Orange Crest Community has lost its beloved Melody Fenex. Her passing, after self-admitting to Kaiser only days prior was as sudden and perplexing as it was and is painful for all who knew Melody. Melody is survived by her devoted husband, partner and best friend, Lindy, as well as their three amazing, beautiful, and equally loving children, Brooke, Daniel, and Zach.

Though our hearts are collectively in pieces, we are comforted in the knowledge that Melody has returned home to her light and love- her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Melody’s love for Christ was evident in her daily life; she lived and loved for and through Him. Her kindness, her generosity, her non-judgmental nature...this was Melody.

Those who knew Melody could not avoid feeling her love if they had tried. Grounded in her faith, Melody was driven by kindness, charity, and empathy for the world around her: she brought light to every dark room she entered, and warmth to the coldest moments of those suffering around her. Melody was unapologetically generous. She was unconditionally loving. She lived her faith out loud.

We ask for your prayers for the Fenex family and her friends as they struggle to imagine a life without Melody, and remember the magnitude of the life she lived here on Earth. She was the heartbeat of the Fenex family and the source of so much light, a best friend, a confidant, and a champion to each of her children... and the soulmate of her best friend, Lindy. The shock and devastation of her loss is only compounded by the loss of an equal partner who provided financially for any family, and the Fenex’s are no exception. It was only with much reservation, contemplation, and prayer that the family authorized this Go Fund Me. Lindy spoke with Christ, and Christ reminded him that friendship and support in his time of need should not be shunned by pride, sadness, or guilt; even as Lindy holds his family together, he could not be more caring, humble and concerned about the people reading these words. About YOU. He and Melody are cut from the same cloth. Which is why, on their behalf, the friends of the Fenex family have organized this fundraiser. And it is with the most absolute and sincere humility that we, on the family’s behalf, want to thank you for reading, sharing, and if you are interested and able, offering whatever financial assistance you might desire to give. Along with her tragic death, her family is now facing college expenses that were unanticipated for all three children (a benefit formerly received from Melody’s employer), the loss of income, autopsy and medical death investigation expenses, and funeral expenses during COVID-19. Any our community can share will help tremendously as we reconcile the loss of a devoted mother, wife, and provider.
