Melodie Schaffer, Canada's Globe 40 round-the-world racer

Melodie is an engineer, mother, and, most recently, around the world sailing racer. Melodie competed in the 2022-2023 Globe 40 around the world race, as the only female and the only Canadian. She set three speed records and was recognized as Rolex's Canadian Sailor of the Year for her efforts. Melodie aims to encourage Canadian kids, especially girls, to take up sailing and realize that they can compete at the highest levels they want to.

Racing around the world requires a team and a budget! Melodie funded her first race entirely out of her personal savings, and we are trying to help her raise funds for the 2025-2026 race, to pay for equipment, boat upgrade, supplies, and support personnel.
