Hi, my name is Thea and along with 5 other Transition Year students from Ramsgrange Community School, Co. Wexford, I am raising money for the Mellon Educate Transition Year Building Blitz Volunteer Programme 2026 in South Africa.

For over 20 years, Mellon Educate, an international education charity, has transformed the lives of over 65,000 children in South African townships and to date has built or renovated 36 schools. The charity follows strict safeguarding so all activities are safe, sustainable, and focused on long-term benefit for the children and neighbourhoods they serve.

My goal is to raise €3,500.

The money raised will go towards supporting vulnerable children through classroom teaching, literacy workshops, essential repairs to schools and assist in the schools feeding programme. Your donation will help make a real difference to their lives and their communities.

Other students and I will travel to Cape Town as part of the Volunteer Programme in March 2026. Any donation from you, no matter the size, will give us the opportunity to participate and give support to this life changing programme.
