Mellon Educate - Township Building Blitz 2025

Hi everyone!

I’m fundraising on behalf of Mellon Educate to participate in their Building Blitz 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa, from November 15th to 22nd. This incredible initiative brings together volunteers from around the world to build a school in just seven days, providing children in underprivileged communities with access to quality education and a brighter future.

For those who may not be familiar, Mellon Educate is an Irish-based charity founded in 2002 by philanthropist Niall Mellon. The charity’s mission is to address the lack of adequate housing and educational facilities in South Africa’s poorest townships. Over the years, Mellon Educate has played a vital role in improving lives—having built 175,000 homes for families in need. More recently, the focus has shifted to building schools, ensuring that children have access to proper education in a safe, supportive environment.

To raise the necessary funds for this project, I will be running the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon on June 1st, 2025. I aim to raise €2,500, which will be matched by my employer, Salesforce, doubling the impact of every donation! The funds will directly contribute to building materials, tools, and essential resources.
