Melissha Young

Recently, we got some devastating news that my niece, Melissha, has been diagnosed with cancer. Melissha has just been diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Cutaneous Melanoma and it has metastasized to several areas of her body. This is a rare form of cancer and one that can not be treated with traditional chemotherapy and radiation used in other cancers, thus is significantly costly. The doctors are working hard to come up with the best plan of action to treat the cancer because hope is not lost on their end, nor ours. However, this cancer is aggressive and fast growing, so treatment needs to begin soon and is a necessity for her continuation to live and thrive.

Melissha or “Tuney”, as much of our family call her, is a hardworking Mom of two, whose youngest will be graduating high school in just a few weeks. She is a new Grandma to her sweet Grandson who is one. She is also an amazing daughter, niece, cousin, and aunt who loves her family. She is a hard worker and truly the most selfless and caring person we can think of. This diagnosis, while heartbreaking, has not dampened her spirit one bit and she wants to continue to fight as hard as she can.

Unfortunately, her ability to work is on hold because of this devastating diagnosis which is putting a financial strain on them. We are asking for any help that you can provide.
