Melissa's Car Trouble

Two weeks ago, Melissa was overworked, sleep-deprived, stressed, and sick, and wound up in an accident on her way in to work. As a result, it's thrown our entire life into disarray. Normally, we'd be able to file a claim with our insurance company, and go on about our business. But that hasn't proven to be the case. Lost in the whirlwind of shows, work, kids, and more, we found out when we went to file the claim that our insurance had lapsed before the crash, and our insurance company won't be able to help us.

The pictures don't really do justice to what happened, as estimates put the cost of repair at well over $5,000.

This has been a difficult, trying year for us, with house problems, (other) car problems, health problems, multiple deaths, and an array of emergencies great and small that have wiped out any surplus we may have had.

We wouldn't normally turn to crowdfunding to help get us through--as we've been blessed in our lives--but we're rapidly running out of options, and with no insurance to help and needing her car to be back up and running, our backs are against the wall.

We know it's the holiday season, and we know that budgets get a little bit tighter all around, but any help anyone could offer would be dearly, dearly appreciated. We hope if you can't help, that you know someone who can.
