Hi, we’re Stephanie Dyer and Buna George, and we’re organizing this fundraiser for our cousin Melissa Felix, a strong and loving 39-year-old woman who is currently battling renal failure. Melissa urgently needs a kidney transplant — and with your help, we can give her a second chance at life.

Melissa lives in Mexicali, B.C., Mexico, where public healthcare through the “Seguro” system is underfunded and overwhelmed. The sad reality is that patients with chronic conditions like hers are often left waiting indefinitely for life-saving care. In too many cases, those without financial resources are simply allowed to fade away — not because there isn’t hope, but because there isn’t enough help.

Despite everything, Melissa continues to fight with courage, grace, and hope. She undergoes regular dialysis, manages daily exhaustion, and stays strong for her loved ones. But the cost of private care, medications, and transplant preparation is far beyond what her family can afford alone. There’s a potential donor, but costs are needed to mitigate compatibility.

We want to be fully transparent: All funds raised will be used in Mexico at certified medical facilities, where her treatment and surgery will take place. Her partner and her mother have stepped up as her full-time caregiver, and her family has already contributed as much as they possibly can. This fundraiser is meant to bridge the financial gap that still remains — so Melissa can get the care she urgently needs.

We are hoping to raise $25,000 USD (approximately $440,000 MXN) to help cover:
