My sister Melissa received her bone marrow biopsy results back and they were not what we hoped for. For her to go forward with the bone marrow transplant the blasts had to be below 5%. Her blasts were 6-7% in November and after her three rounds of chemo, the blasts are at 11%. The doctors are saying the treatment did not work and she now has to go inpatient for 1-2 weeks for aggressive chemotherapy and then have another bone marrow biopsy. They have an Telehealth appointment on Wednesday 4/20 with the Seattle doctors and she will most likely be headed to Seattle a couple days sooner than expected. The extra treatments, travel, etc. should be the least of her worries in these trying times.
