Melissa's Melanoma Fight

Donation protected
Melissa McMillan married her high school sweetheart and followed his dreams of being a soldier in the Army and leaving for Germany, California then Virginia. After 2 tours and the push to come home to family, he finally agreed and left the service to come home and raise a family. A few years later the same week her daughter was starting preschool, she felt a lump in her armpit. After going to the doctors office she found out that she had Stage 3 Metastatic Melanoma from a mutation in her body enlarging her lymph nodes. After 2 long surgeries removing 40 lymph nodes in her under arm and neck area, they found 5 tumors. Two the size of golf balls. One looked as if it had ruptured so daily radiation treatment was required for 5 weeks, an hour and a half away. Now, she is undergoing Immunotherapy treatments every 3 weeks for the next year. In the middle of her radiation treatments she had to switch insurance companies due to the company dropping most of Ohio, resulting in an out-of-network insurance.
Melissa was planning on starting work when her daughter started school but this has consumed her life and turned it upside down. By contributing to this fund, we can help ease the burden of every day living expenses, medical expenses, and travel costs to and from treatments. Please help this wonderful veteran family keep up with insurance and medical bills to keep moving forward in their life to make it as normal as possible.
