Melissas Kicking Cancer's Butt

Hello! My name is Julie, and I am fundraising for a very special friend and coworker Melissa Samayoa. Melissa was recently diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer. What she originally thought was appendicitis or an ovarian cyst, unfortunately was much worse than expected. In true Melissa fashion, she has made chemo look like a breeze. Despite what we see on the outside, the chemo is definitely taking its toll, zapping her energy and making it difficult for her to continue working her full-time job as a Labor and Delivery nurse. She has had to decrease her work hours to accommodate the chemo and to allow her body to bounce back after her infusions which are currently every other week. While she is working less, she is burning through her PTO and has mounting medical bills. Now is the time to come together and to show Melissa how much we care about her and how much we are willing to help her through this trying season of life.

For those of you that may not know Melissa, let me tell you a little about this amazing lady. Melissa is a mother of four great kids, Marissa, Ethan, Gavin, and Preston. She has a loving husband named Marlon who she has been married to for 25 years. Melissa has been a Labor and Delivery Nurse for most of her nursing career. In her free time, she enjoys driving to Lewiston and Moscow to see her two kids that are in college, quilting, refinishing furniture, any type of crafting, making amazing sourdough bread, and watching classic movies with her family, just name a few things.
