Melissa’s Cancer Battle: Let’s Lift Her Up

My name is Ariel, and I am writing this for my incredible sister, Melissa. She is one of the strongest, most selfless people I know, always putting everyone else before herself. Now, she is facing one of the toughest battles of her life, and it is our turn to lift her up the way she has always done for others.

Melissa was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, and on March 10th, she underwent surgery to have it removed. Now, we are waiting on the pathology reports to understand the next steps in her treatment.

While this type of cancer tends to progress slowly, the challenges she is facing go far beyond just her health. For years, she has carried the full responsibility of raising her three children while working multiple jobs to provide for them. She dedicated herself to her role at the Federal Aviation Administration in New Jersey, striving for stability until recent government cutbacks left her unemployed. Now, at the worst possible time, her health insurance is about to expire.

Melissa has always been the one to show up for others, pushing through, providing, and making sure her family was okay. Now it is our turn to show up for her. Our goal is to help her secure health insurance and cover the medical expenses ahead so she can focus on what truly matters, recovering and healing.
