Melissa LaPradd - Lung Transplant

Melissa LaPradd is a beautiful, young mother and wife. She was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at 6-weeks-old and has been living with this disease her whole life. She has had some up and downs throughout, but right now, she is fighting for her life.
She recently found out that she had a hole in her sinus cavity that could possibly allow infections to reach her brain and that would be life threatening. She made it through a surgery to repair that issue, but gained so many more. Being so succeptible to infection due to her CF, she acquired pneumonia, had a mini-stroke and they also found out that she had a hole in her heart.
On March 6th, she was admitted into UVA Medical Center's ICU due to the fact that she could not seem to recover from the sinus surgery or the pneumonia and was having a hard time breathing even with the help of oxygen. She has steadily gotten worse and is now breathing with the help of a ventilator. They were able to repair the hole in her heart, but unfortunately, she is having a harder time to fight off the pneumonia and other common infections as a result of her CF.
As you can imagine, her husband, Ricky, and daughter, Abigail, are missing her at home. Ricky works 2-3 jobs to support their family, and now the medical bills are making their situation even more challenging. They also live 2 hours away from the hospital that is caring for Melissa, so the time and cost of traveling is consuming.
We are praying that Melissa can fight her way through this! We are praying that Ricky and Abigail can stay strong through this, and for Ricky to not worry about where the money is going to come from to pay the medical bills.
When Melissa comes home, she will need extensive rehabilitative care.
