Melissa Knapp is the strongest woman I know. Melissa comes to work every day with a smile on her face ready to take care of the people that society would like to forget about. Melissa goes home and takes care of her family, two beautiful little boys, Jacob and Liam, and her best friend and soul mate, Thomas. Thomas has been battling a stage 4 glioblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer. Despite this tragic news and the need for multiple debilitating medical interventions, both Melissa and Thomas continue to work and continue to provide a great life to their boys, always tackling the news with positivity and grace. Thomas is facing the next hurdle in his search for treatment and August 18th he will undergo brain surgery all the way in Texas. Melissa and Thomas will be unable to work for at least a month; Thomas may not be able to return to work at all. In a profession where we take care of others in the most vulnerable times of their lives, we must also come together and take care of one of our own!
