It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved mom, daughter, nurse, co-worker, partner, sister, aunt and friend. Melissa passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, December 19th. She was so excited for Christmas and had taken the day off work to go Christmas shopping for her boys, hoping to fulfill their wish lists.

Melissa was an incredible Registered Nurse who spent the majority of her career at St. Mary’s General Hospital, where she was respected and cherished by colleagues and patients alike.

Above all else, Melissa was an extraordinary mother to her two boys, Mark and Nick, who were truly the loves of her life. She was adored by all who knew her and will be deeply missed by many.

In the wake of this unimaginable loss, we are coming together from all the communities she has been a part of to support Melissa’s two beloved boys, Mark and Nick. A GoFundMe page has been created to help provide financial stability and ongoing support for them as they navigate life without their mom.

Any donation, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated and will go directly toward supporting Mark and Nick’s needs, honoring Melissa’s greatest legacy—her love and devotion to her children. Visitation for Missy will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Friday, January 2, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. We will celebrate Melissa's life in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, January 3, 2025, at 1 p.m., followed by a reception in the Fireside Reception Room.
