Melissa Sofia Family Health Crisis

Hi, I'm Debbie and I'm requesting donations for my wonderful sister Melissa and her family. 


First, her 24 year old daughter Caitlyn fell ill from undetected Lyme disease 8 years ago which is now chronic and has caused a lot of damage to her entire system. This beautiful girl went from being a vibrant high-schooler, with great grades and ambitions for the future, to being house-bound (needing constant care, which Melissa and her husband Ray have provided on their own for years- working multiple jobs to pay her huge medical bills). All while watching her twin brother go off to college and start a successful career out of state.


Then, a little over a month ago, Ray was admitted to the hospital with stroke-like symptoms, only to find 3 masses of metastasized cancer in his brain. The primary cancer was found to be stage four melanoma, which has also spread to his lymph system and abdomen. He has difficulty with speech and reasoning along with trouble even getting around. He is undergoing radiation and immunotherapy, with chemo to follow. As such, he can no longer work.


This is an urgent situation because they are facing losing his insurance as well as dealing with mounting bills and the possibility of losing their home. So now, not only is Melissa the sole provider, she is also the primary caregiver to two very ill loved ones. My sister is kind and generous, and always gives from the heart. She's a trained social worker and would do anything for anyone.


I'm worried sick about her family and am so hoping that there are generous people out there who can help. If you cannot donate, please consider spreading the word through social media. I believe in the power of prayer, so adding my family to yours also would mean a lot.
