My friend, Melissa Shirley, was born without enamel on her teeth which wasn't discovered until she was 18.
She was then in the dentist chair 3-4 days a week. The dentists said Melissa would have dentures by the age of 30, and at 39 she got upper ones. She can't use lower ones because of the way her bone is shaped. They have to go in and shave it and then put in two implants so she can eat. Right now she eats on the two teeth that are going bad. The oral surgeon wants $3000 down before doing the surgery and her dental insurance won't pay for that. Melissa is a local P.E. teacher for grades K-5 working at Mason Elementary School in Gwinnett County, GA for the last16 yrs.
